A travel contract is thirteen weeks, and the place you sleep decides how those weeks go. After a run of twelve-hour shifts, you need a dark, quiet room at any hour, a washer for your scrubs that nobody else is waiting on, a kitchen where you can prep a week of meals, and a bill your agency or your stipend can cover without a shoebox of receipts. The Grayson Extended Stays is built for exactly that.
We are a family-owned bed and breakfast with extended stays on Highway 2 in the Cascade foothills, serving Everett, Kirkland, Bellevue and the Eastside. Hosts Mark and Mariam Zinn run it themselves. Before hospitality, Mariam worked in eldercare administration and as an EMT, so the needs of people who care for others all day are familiar to us. This page is written for travel nurses, contract clinicians and the agencies that place them.
Who stays here on a medical contract
Nurses on contract at Providence Everett, Harborview, Seattle Children’s and EvergreenHealth (Kirkland, Monroe, and home health and hospice) have stayed with us, along with clinicians in Bellevue. We are a preferred lodging provider for the Washington State Department of Corrections: psychiatrists, doctors and nurses at the Monroe Correctional Complex stay at The Grayson. We have also hosted home health nurses and staff from the Kidney Center. Traveling doctors, therapists and educators stay on the same terms.

Sleep after a night shift
- Blackout when you need it. Select suites have industrial-grade blackout curtains for day sleepers, and others face the morning light. Tell us your shift and we will match the room.
- Your own thermostat. Every suite has central heat and air with an in-room thermostat, its own heat tile and a ceiling fan.
- Created Comfort Sleep in every suite. A 12 to 14 inch gel memory foam mattress, a 4 inch plush topper, an adjustable heated mattress pad and soft, medium and firm pillows. A Bluetooth clock plays white noise and charges your phone.
- A quiet wing. The West Side quiet wing sits away from the kitchen and laundry. Late arrivals use a separate Quiet Entrance, and the corridors are a no walking-and-talking zone.
What a 13-week stay includes
Every extended stay starts with The Grayson Lodging, fully furnished from the first night:
- Laundry for daily scrubs. A high-capacity smart washer and dryer, free to use, no coins, soap provided. Lysol disinfectant is provided too.
- A kitchen made for meal prep. The Chef’s Kitchen has an island, a gas range and double ovens, and an upstairs kitchenette sits steps from the suites. There is an outdoor BBQ for grilling.
- Space that is yours. Your own labeled shelf in the refrigerator, a cabinet in the kitchen and a drawer in the bathroom, each carrying your suite’s name.
- The everyday things. Utilities, Starlink Wi-Fi, streaming, a fully stocked Keurig station, weekly housekeeping with a sheet change, restroom paper products, free dedicated parking and Saturday brunch.
- Room to work and unwind. A traveler’s desk for charting and paperwork, and the firepit to decompress after a shift.
If you would rather not cook after a long shift, The Grayson Lodging + M&IE adds breakfast at the hour you name, as early as 5 AM, a hot meal at night, laundry washed, dried and folded, and housekeeping on your schedule.
Overnight guests are welcome. Guests beyond two in a suite are $15.75* a night.
*Prices subject to change.
Stipend friendly, tax free and billed the way you need
- Tax free at 30 nights or more. Extended stay lodging of 30 nights or more is always tax free, so a 13-week contract carries no lodging tax. Stays under 30 nights carry 9.9% lodging tax, and weekly stays are not tax free. Food and services are taxed at 7.9%.
- Our Medical Rate. Credentialed medical professionals get our lowest rate. It shows on the Extended Stays page once you confirm you are currently credentialed and practicing. It cannot be combined with Heroes & Saints or any other offer.
- One itemized folio every month. One all-inclusive bill, so your expense report writes itself.
- Direct agency billing. We bill the agency direct, or you can self-pay and expense it.
- No credit check, and no first, last or security deposit. The first 30 days are collected up front, and then the stay runs month to month, billed each month and fully renewable.
We bill one month at a time, starting with the first month’s payment, and there is no deposit. If a hospital cancels or shortens your contract, the rest of the month you are in is not refunded, and you never owe for a month you haven’t started. If your end date might move, tell us when you inquire.
Bring your dog
Dogs are welcome on extended stays. The Pet Fee, $150* a month per suite, and the optional Pet Concierge are included in your quote, so there is no surprise charge later. The Olympic suite opens onto a fully fenced, off-leash yard. Pets lounge freely in the suite and stay on-leash in the interior corridors. Our Traveling with Pet Guide lists the closest urgent-care vets.
For agencies and travel teams
Send the start date and contract length, the hospital or city, and any pets, and we will come back the same day with one all-inclusive quote. There is no fee, no contract and no exclusivity for agencies. The inquiry form accepts an employer letter or a contract as an attachment, and identification is never stored. Placing more than one clinician? Inquire if we can accommodate your group’s size.
Arrival and the practical details
- A real welcome. Every guest is greeted in person and handed the room key. There are no lockboxes. Name an arrival hour between 4 and 9 PM; earlier or later arrivals can be arranged for a fee.
- Three ground-floor suites. The Olympic, Cascade and Pike have zero stairs and a ramp to the door.
- A calm house. Indoors is 100% smoke-free and vape-free. The Grayson does not serve alcohol, though guests may bring their own. Quiet hours run 10 PM to 6 AM.
- Longer than one contract. Any suite can be booked for a long stay, and our longest stay so far is over four years. If you extend, the stay simply renews month to month.
